The City of Bartlesville will continue its spring and fall clean-up campaigns with the “Spring Coupon’ now available for residential utility customers.
City of Bartlesville solid waste customers should have received their Spring Coupon with their utility bill this month. The coupons allow Bartlesville residents to dispose of items free of charge at Osage Landfill, located west of Bartlesville on County Road 2712. One coupon is issued to each household and is good for one free trip to the landfill anytime between Jan. 1 through June 30, 2017.
“We started the coupon program last year, and it worked very well,” Henry said. “It gives people plenty of time to plan and allows them to dispose of their items whenever they want during a six-month period.”
A fall coupon will be mailed with utility bills sometime after July 1 for the fall campaign, Henry said.
Henry said Bartlesville residents should present a current City of Bartlesville utility bill receipt along with the coupon. The coupon is valid only for City of Bartlesville residential solid waste customers. Commercial accounts or contractors may not redeem the coupon for free disposal. The coupon may not be duplicated, and any unauthorized or duplicated accounts will be charged for disposal fee.
Residential customers may take unwanted items to Osage Landfill during regular business hours, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
Customers will be allowed to transport their debris in a single personal vehicle or vehicle/trailer combination. All appliances that have compressors must have the compressors removed before disposal. The compressor can be disposed if it is removed.
Items that WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED are tires, batteries, hazardous material, wet paint, appliances that have not had the compressors removed (refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, etc.) and demolished structures. The appliance must be certified “Freon free” if the compressor is not removed.
