Asphalt projects delayed due to storm damage

June 13, 2018

Asphalt street projects planned for this week have been delayed after an early morning storm on Tuesday resulted in tree damage in several Bartlesville neighborhoods, Street Department Supervisor Lance Brown said today.

“Street Department crews have been unable to complete the planned asphalt resurfacing on several Bartlesville streets because they are busy responding to the storm damage,” Brown said.

Crews were called out early Tuesday morning and have been working since to clear tree debris from roadways.

“We will be completing the asphalt projects this week and next as we can get to them,” he said. “We are planning to do Melmart Drive on Thursday morning, but the other streets will likely be done next week.”

Brown said the Brock Drive project has been removed from this round of resurfacing but could be completed later this summer.

Streets set for resurfacing include

  • Bridle Road between Melmart Drive and Harned Drive
  • Lariat Drive between Woodland Road and Clearview Drive
  • Melmart Drive between Woodland Road and Clearview Drive
  • Jennings Avenue between Lupa Street and Cudahay Street
  • Herrick Street between Theodore Street and Virginia Avenue

An announcement will be made as soon as a new schedule is known. Residents in the affected areas are asked to refrain from parking on the street between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on the date their street is set for resurfacing. Only local traffic will be permitted through the work zone.
