Firefighters undergo boat rescue training at City’s Lee Lake

September 18, 2018

Bartlesville firefighters utilized Lee Lake as a training ground for water rescues last week.

According to Fire Department PIO/Training Officer Bill Hollander, firefighters donned dry suits and used their inflatable rescue boats to simulate real life emergencies and rescue situations.

“The boats can be used for rescues on lakes, rivers, swift water, and ice conditions,” Hollander said.

Additional training in boat rescue tactics is scheduled to take place soon, Hollander said.
