City Beat Q&A: Chicken restaurants headed for Highway 75

Have you heard anything about when Chick-Fil-A might start construction?

Plans for a new Chick-Fil-A restaurant in Bartlesville have been submitted to the City’s Building and Permit Office and are under review. The company has previously indicated construction could begin as early as August. Some may have noticed that work is underway at the site. Contract crews are working to extend City water and sewer lines to make way for Chick-Fil-A and future projects at the center.

Do you know what is going in on the east side of Highway 75 next to one of the dental businesses, almost to the Walmart exit? Is it a restaurant?

According to Chief Building Official Robert McGuire, Chicken Express has submitted plans to construct a restaurant at that location. Those plans are currently under review by the City’s Building and Permit Office.

Is there any news about Ree Drummond’s corner at Highway 75 and Price Road? We have heard a deli, a bakery and a steakhouse.

The City of Bartlesville issued a permit for the demolition of the building formerly at that location, on the northeast corner of the U.S. 75/Price Road intersection, but no information has been received since. Paperwork filed with the City at the time listed Drummond’s husband, Ladd Drummond, as the owner of the property. We’ve heard all these rumors as well but have no official information regarding what the project might entail.

Do you know if the new PHAT Tire bicycle shop downtown has been contacted about bike racks from the City? Did you know they are open seven days a week?

The City has received information (and Phat Tire Bike Shop has confirmed) that a local civic group is exploring the idea of sponsoring a rack for the business, located at 319 SE Dewey Ave. Grants Administrator Nancy Warring says several racks, which were acquired by the City through a grant program, are still available for interested Bartlesville businesses. For more information about the program, see Bike or Racks. If interested in acquiring or sponsoring a rack, contact Warring at newarring@cityofbartlesville.org or 918.338.4243. And be sure to visit Phat Tire Bike Shop — open seven days a week!

Can you ride a bike on Pathfinder?
