Q&A: Subway, pick-up lockers on tap for Walmart; still no Planet Fitness

What is going in Walmart where the McDonald’s used to be?

According to the City’s Building and Permit Office, a permit has been issued to Rick Scott Construction for the interior finish of a new Subway restaurant to be located in the former McDonald’s space at Walmart.

Bonus information: Lockers to be installed for easy pick-up, loading

In other Walmart news, plans are under review by the Building and Permit Office for Walmart to construct 10 lockers on the north side of the Bartlesville store that will make it easier for customers to pick up and/or load items that have either been called in, ordered online or purchased using a special check-out center inside the store. The lockers will make it easier for people who either don’t wish to go inside to shop or who want to shop inside but need more convenient loading.

How much does it cost to rent the new pavilion in Johnstone Park?

The new Johnstone Park Pavilion at City Center, located on Hensley Boulevard just west of Cherokee Avenue, is available for rental at a cost of $25 for the first two hours, then $10 per hour for each hour thereafter. The pavilion, like all park shelters owned by the City of Bartlesville, requires a two-hour minimum rental and is rented on a first come, first served basis.

Payment is required prior to reservation and must be made in person at the Cashiers Window on the first floor of City Hall, 401 S. Johnstone Ave. between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. For more information, see www.cityofbartlesville.org or call 918-338-4226.

There is a lot of work going on at the old Stage location in Eastland. Do you know what’s going in there?

Rumors are abound that Planet Fitness is locating at the vacant space formerly housing Stage. However, there has not been a permit filed with the City of Bartlesville by Planet Fitness — or any other business — for that location. The only permits issued that apply to the site is a “white box” permit, which means general work not applying to any specific business, and parking lot work.
