Sooner Swimming Pool remains closed after lightning struck the pool’s pump during an overnight storm last week.
The parts needed to repair the pump are on order but have not yet been received, Parks Superintendent Bobby Robinson said Monday.
“We’re waiting on the vendor at this point,” Robinson said.
The splash pad at Sooner Park, located near the pool at 420 S. Madison Blvd., and Frontier Pool, located at 312 S.W. Virginia Ave., are open.
City of Bartlesville-owned pools Sooner and Frontier are operated and managed by the Richard Kane YMCA. Swim lessons offered by the YMCA will be adjusted as needed, officials for the group said last week. Classes may be held at the YMCA pool if necessary. The YMCA will contact by phone each person registered for swim lessons and provide details.
