Contract crews are putting the finishing touches on the Pathfinder repair project just south of the Tuxedo Bridge. A final walk-through today will likely conclude the week-long project — though the path is open now, Director of Engineering Micah Siemers said earlier today.
The project includes reconstruction of approximately 300 feet of trail that was washed out during the flood last spring.
“The temporary gravel trail that was in place following the flooding has been removed and a new trail has been constructed generally in the same location,” Siemers said.
The repairs were coordinated around the FEMA public assistance efforts associated with the May 21 flood event that was given federal disaster designation.
“Funds were allocated for this project through that federal aid effort,” Siemers said.
Once funds were available the project was added to the contract of the downtown paving and landscape project to expedite repairs, he said
