BCC concrete repairs near completion

Sep 28, 2021

Construction on the Bartlesville Community Center Concrete Drive Repair project is “making great progress,” City of Bartlesville Project Engineer Emily Taber said this week.

Contract crews began construction at the beginning of August to rehabilitate the concrete drive on the west side of the BCC.

“This drive allows staff, patrons and vendors to access the BCC from Adams Boulevard and Silas Street, and it also feeds into the BCC’s parking lot,” Taber said “The reconstruction of the drive will mimic the old drive’s design to preserve the original aesthetic and to synchronize the BCC with the newly-constructed Tower Center at Unity Square. The design consists of a repeating concrete arch design that utilizes two colors of concrete, rust for the arches and beige, or uncolored, for the voids.”

Funding for the project comes from the 2013 Half-cent Capital Improvement Projects Sales tax. Construction is expected to last one to two more months, pending weather conditions.
