BPD K-9 Officer Sid put to rest after cancer diagnoses

Oct 11, 2022

Bartlesville Police Department K-9 Officer Sid was put to rest last weekend after fighting an inoperable form of cancer, BPD Capt. Jay Hastings said Saturday.

“Cpl. Ryan Deshields and Sid had been together and working the streets of Bartlesville since April 2019,” Hastings said in a release issued over the weekend.

“It is with great sadness that we announce this news, but Sid had reached the point in his illness where it was best for him to be put to rest.”

A police escort was held for Sid’s last ride, to Bartlesville Animal Hospital in Bartlesville.
