BPD to offer safe rides home on New Year’s Eve

Dec 17, 2025

The Bartlesville Police Department is once again prioritizing community safety this New Year’s Eve by offering free rides home to residents as part of its annual impaired-driving prevention initiative.

Residents who have consumed alcohol and need a safe ride home are urged not to drive. Instead, they should contact Bartlesville Police Dispatch at 918-338-4001 and inform the dispatcher they would like to utilize the Chief’s Safe Ride Home program. Callers should provide their location, and a member of the police staff will be dispatched to transport them safely home. This free service will be available from 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Dec. 31 for residents within Bartlesville city limits.

“The purpose of this program is to reduce impaired driving and keep our community safe,” said Deputy Chief Troy Newell. “We want everyone to enjoy their celebrations and arrive home safely, and we strongly encourage residents to take advantage of this service.”

“This initiative reflects our department’s continued commitment to the safety and well-being of Bartlesville residents,” Newell said. “By choosing a safe ride, individuals help make New Year’s Eve safer for everyone.”
