Citizens encourage ‘3 Ws’ to help reduce spread of COVID-19

January 12, 2021

Local citizens are stepping up to help encourage the use of masks, social distancing and hand washing in an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

The City has released several videos on its Facebook page and website, www.cityofbartlesville.org, and in City Beat with Washington County residents who have agreed to participate in creating the public service videos, which are part of the City’s ongoing COVID-19 public information campaign.

The campaign, which features super-hero buffalo B’ville Bill and the tagline “Protect Our Herd,” focuses on simple steps we can all take now to help protect ourselves and each other from getting the virus: Wash Your Hands, Wear Your Mask, and Watch Your Distance.

“Obviously, we’ve been hearing about ‘the three Ws’ since the COVID-19 pandemic began in the U.S. early last year,” said City Manager Mike Bailey. “The premise isn’t new, but unfortunately, the need to adhere to them is as important now as it ever was — even more so, actually, given the rise in the number of infections, hospitalizations and deaths we’ve seen across the country over recent months due to this virus.”

The support videos can be found on the City’s Facebook page, City of Bartlesville GOV, website: www.cityofbartlesville.org, and in each weekly edition of City Beat. See archived editions at www.cityofbartlesville.org.
