City Council to begin 2-year term next week

The Bartlesville City Council will begin its new two-year term on Monday, Dec. 5, with a meeting set to begin at 7 p.m. on the first floor of City Hall, 401 S. Johnstone Ave. City Council meetings are always open to the public and may be live-streamed on the City’s website, www.cityofbartlesville.org.

The first meeting of the new term, held every even-numbered year on the first Monday in December, will include the swearing in of all council members, the selection of the mayor and vice mayor, and committee assignments. The mayor and vice mayor positions are voted on by the council, once members have been sworn in and seated for the meeting. Committee assignments are conducted once the mayor and vice mayor have been elected by the sitting council.

A reception is planned for outgoing Councilor Paul Stuart and incoming Councilor Loren Roszel, of Ward 2. Stuart did not seek re-election to his seat during the August filing period; Rozsel won election to the seat on Nov. 8.

The public is invited to attend the reception, which will be held in the first floor conference room at City Hall, 401 S. Johnstone Ave. Light refreshments will be served.
