The City Council on Monday declared Oct. 11-15 Code Enforcement Officers Appreciation Week.

“Code Enforcement officers are dedicated, well trained, and highly responsible individuals who are committed to preventing neighborhood deterioration, enhancing and ensuring public health and safety, and preserving property values by responding to over 2,500 requests each year from local citizens on a wide variety of nuisances, including tall grass and weeds, trash and debris, inoperable vehicles, parking on the grass, dilapidated structures, and other neighborhood concerns,” said Mayor Dale Copeland.

“Every day they are committed to provide quality customer service to the public for the betterment of the community and too many times their efforts go unnoticed, even after code compliance has been accomplished due to their efforts and expertise.”
