City seeks input from residents in communitywide survey

Mar 18, 2025

The City is gearing up to conduct a resident survey to get input on government services and measure the quality of life in the community. The survey was identified as a need in the Bartlesville NEXT Strategic Plan.

“Conducting a citywide survey is outlined in our organizational strategic plan, Bartlesville NEXT, as an important step toward improving ourselves as an organization and ensuring that we are meeting the needs and expectations of our residents,” said City Manager Mike Bailey. “This survey will allow more people to participate in shaping their government and the future of Bartlesville and will give us valuable information about how we’re doing as an organization.”

The National Community Survey (The NCS) was developed by National Research Center at Polco. The survey captures opinions on the economy, mobility, community design, utilities, safety, natural environment, engagement, and other elements of Bartlesville’s overall livability. The results will show community strengths, areas of improvement, and what matters most to residents. The City will also be able to see how its performance compares to other communities across the country.

Randomly selected households will receive mailed survey invitations over the next few weeks. Households that receive an invitation are asked to follow the enclosed instructions and complete the survey. All residents will have the opportunity to share their input in a few weeks, when the survey becomes available to the entire community.

“We strongly encourage all residents to take the survey. The more people who participate, the better data we will have to inform our plan,” said Bailey. “This is an opportunity for everyone in the community to share their thoughts and shape the future of Bartlesville.”

The survey will open March 24 and close on April 28.
