Consideration of proposed Eastland TIF postponed

Jun 5, 2017

Consideration of the proposed Eastland Tax Increment Finance (TIF) district has been postponed after the City Council pulled the item from the council meeting agenda on June 5.

The council held the second of two public hearings scheduled on the matter before pulling the item calling for consideration for approval of the district.

City Manager Ed Gordon said this week that City staff is working with other governmental entities regarding improvements outlined in the proposed Eastland TIF district plan, which includes improvements to U.S. Highway 75.

In accordance with Oklahoma law, two public hearings are required on the matter, the first of which was held May 15.

To view questions proposed during the both hearings and the responses, see Proposed Eastland TIF District Public Hearings 1 and 2.
