Demolition to create parking spaces for County employees

Nov 4, 2018

I’ve heard the building where Lot-a-Burger was and Rolling Pin is (currently) is going to be torn down and a parking lot put in its place. If this is correct, will this be parking for the courthouse or downtown business – like one or two hour?

The property in question is owned by the Washington County Building Commission. According to Washington County District 3 Commissioner Mike Dunlap, the Washington County Board of Commissioners will likely move forward with removing the structure(s) due to the high cost of needed structural repairs. Dunlap said the demolition would create approximately 30 additional parking spaces for Washington County employees.

He said commissioners are working on other options as well but that nothing has been finalized. He said the public will be informed as soon as possible as more information becomes available.
