Earthwork included in Phase 2 of the multi-phase Price Fields renovation project is about 80 percent complete, Director of Engineering Micah Siemers said this week.
“The earthwork is approximately 80 percent complete and they are currently working on the block retaining wall on the west end of the project,” Siemers said. “When the project is completed we will have four new 200-foot baseball fields in the northwest corner of the complex and a new asphalt parking lot along the east side of the complex.”
The project is scheduled to be complete in February in time for spring baseball/softball, Siemers said.
14th Street road rehabilitation
The 14th Street road rehabilitation project, which consists of improvements on 14th Street between Cherokee and Armstrong, is about 95 percent complete.
“All they lack is some striping work and they will be finished,” Siemers said.
Johnstone Park Pavilion
The rest room included in Phase 2 of the Johnstone Park Pavilion project is tentatively scheduled to be delivered and set in place on Dec. 7, Siemers said.
“Once the rest room is set, City staff will complete the utility
connections and begin work on a concrete sidewalk that will connect the rest room to the pavilion,” he said. “They will also begin work on the concrete approach between First Street and the pavilion.”
Work for Phase 2 on the pavilion project is still slated to conclude sometime in January. The Engineering Department is working on completing plans for Phase 3, to be bid as soon as possible.
“Construction would take place in early 2017 and, if all goes well, will wrap up by the May opening of the Farmer’s Market,” Siemers said.
Public Safety Center
The Bartlesville Public Safety Center, located in the 600 block of Johnstone Avenue, is still set to be ready for operation by the first week of January 2017.
“The furniture is scheduled to be delivered and installed in that time frame as well, with police and fire staff hopefully moving in by the second week in January,” Siemers said.
The complex will house a new police facility and an expanded Central Fire Station, located on the northern end of the site.
