The Bartlesville Fire Department is accepting applications for firefighter positions through Feb. 16, BFD Public Information/Training Officer Bill Hollander said recently.
Fire Department representatives recently attended Tulsa Community College’s Fire Academy job fair to talk with recent graduates about opportunities with the City of Bartlesville.
“This was an opportunity for graduating students to come in and ‘pitch’ themselves to representatives from area fire departments,” Hollander said. “It also gave us an opportunity to tell them about the benefits of working for the Bartlesville Fire Department, so it was really a successful event.”
The Fire Academy includes certification for Firefighter levels 1 and 2, HAZMAT awareness and operations and Wildland firefighting in addition to other fire-related training.
“When these individuals graduate from the program, they are ready to become firefighters,” Hollander said.
