Site open for trees, vegetative debris caused by July 4 storm
The free disposal site opened for tree debris caused by the July 4 storm has been extended. The site, initially set to close this week, will now remain open through July 23.
“We know many residents are still dealing with the aftermath of the storm, and extending the free disposal site gives them additional time to safely clear fallen trees and other storm debris from their properties,” said Assistant City Manager Laura Sanders. “Our goal is to make the recovery process as convenient as possible while helping keep our neighborhoods safe and clean. We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation as our community continues to recover.”
- The site is located on City-owned property on West Highway 60 just east of the Green Country Rodeo Arena, 759 Bartlesville Road.
- The site will be open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. through July 23, with the exception of Sunday, July 19, when it will be closed.
- The site is ONLY for tree debris, brush and vegetation damaged during the July 4 storm. Please do not dispose of any other items.
Those who cannot get to the site can bundle limbs in 4-foot lengths (no more than 50 pounds) and use the City’s existing yard waste program by attaching green yard waste stickers to the bundles. Stickers are available for purchase at local Quik Trip locations and City Hall, 401 S. Johnstone Ave. Yard waste containing the stickers will be collected on your normal trash collection day.
Please note there are no plans to conduct a curbside collection for debris caused by this storm. If your trees are stacked by the curb for collection, they must be cut in 4-foot lengths, weigh no more than 50 pounds and have a green yard waste sticker attached for collection.
