Hangars, upgrades planned for Bartlesville Airport

Sep 9, 2026

Bartlesville Airport is set to get three new hangars and utility upgrades after the City Council approved a construction contract on Tuesday.

Part of the airport’s Five-Year Plan, the scope of the project includes construction of three 75-feet by 75-feet box hangars, as well as sewer and waterline extensions.

All but five percent of the $2,061,867 project will ultimately be funded through grants from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics (ODAA). The City’s share of $125,094 will come from the City Airport Fund.

“The FAA and State (ODAA) have been very supportive of hangar development in Oklahoma,” said Director of Engineering Micah Siemers. “This grant funding makes it possible for us to expand and make necessary upgrades at our airport, so we’re grateful these programs are available.”

The Council approved an agreement with Koehn Construction Services for the work. Construction is expected to start later this year.

“A notice to proceed date will be determined once we get signed contracts and bonds back within the next month,” Siemers said. “Since Koehn is already on-site finishing up the current box hangar project, we anticipate a quick start date later this fall.”
