Library’s OSU buffalo headed for rehab

Feb 26, 2019

The Oklahoma State University buffalo currently housed at Bartlesville Public Library will undergo a rehabilitation soon after a previous attempt failed, Library Director Shellie McGill said last week.

“The OSU buffalo was donated to the Bartlesville Public Library a couple of years ago,” McGill said. “Unfortunately, it was vandalized and the person who attempted to restore it used a material that did not stand up to the elements, so it is in bad shape.”

McGill said Gary Long of C&M Collision Repair Center has agreed to refurbish the buffalo at no cost to the City.

“All we have to do is take the buffalo to him and pick it up when it is done,” McGill said. “I feel very blessed that he is willing to do this — despite the fact that he is an OU fan.”

McGill said the buffalo will likely be taken to C&M Collision Repair Center next month.
