Bartlesville utility customers will find a special notice in their bill this month — a one-page flyer encouraging everyone to complete an online survey to let City staff and the City Council know how they feel about the city’s solid waste services.
The Solid Waste Survey was launched last month in an effort to gain more public input about which services local residents would like to see offered in the future. Solid waste services include trash collection, recycling, street sweeping and other temporary or seasonal collections or drop-off programs.
The survey can be accessed at Survey Monkey, at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SYC2MZP.
Results of the survey will be used to help City staff and the Bartlesville City Council determine which services the public would most like to see implemented or changed and whether they are willing to fund the costs associated with these services through additional fees and/or increased utility rates.
In the survey, residents are asked to weigh in on services including roadside and neighborhood clean-up campaigns, street sweeping, bulky waste collection, curbside or drop-off recycling, the landfill voucher system and the sticker program for refuse and yard waste.
“It is important that everyone participate in this survey so City leaders can best determine the customers’ needs and willingness to pay for future changes to the solid waste system,” said City Manager Mike Bailey. “This is a good opportunity for those who would like to see new or expanded programs implemented — as well as for those who are happy with the services we currently provide or who are unwilling to pay for additional programs — to let us know how they feel. We strongly encourage everyone to take the survey.”
