Pathfinder projects cleared for advancement

Mar 4, 2020

Two Pathfinder projects will move forward after the council voted to approve a bid award and an easement agreement relating to ongoing extension and rehabilitation of the popular Pathfinder walking/jogging trail.

The council voted 5-0 to approve an easement agreement between the City and Eastland Inc., needed to facilitate extension of the path from the trailhead at Eastland Shopping Center to the existing trail near Frank Phillips Boulevard and Brookline Drive.

The project, which was approved in the Fiscal Year 2012-13 Capital Budget using voter-approved funds via the half-cent Capital Improvement Projects sales tax, is expected to cost approximately $175,000. Construction is expected to start this month.

The council also approved a contract for rehabilitation work along Frank Phillips Boulevard from Comanche to Silver Lake Road, and along Silver Lake Road from Nowata Road to Adams Boulevard. The rehab will include an asphalt overlay of the existing path. KSL was contracted to complete the project for $189,689.
