Program aimed at ending driving while intoxicated

Bartlesville Police Department patrol officers began local enforcement of the Oklahoma State Highway Safety Office’s ENDUI campaign Wednesday.

The campaign — an effort aimed at preventing people from driving while intoxicated — began Aug. 15 and will end Sept. 3.

Law enforcement officers throughout the state are utilizing “saturation patrols” — assignment of a high number of law enforcement officers in targeted areas — throughout the campaign.

“We are working saturation patrols near intersections and in areas prone for intoxicated drivers during the campaign,” BPD transitional Operations Director Capt. Rocky Bevard said.
