Police chief, staff to offer safe rides home on New Year’s Eve

Dec 19, 2023

Bartlesville Police Chief Kevin Ickleberry and his staff will offer safe transportation from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Dec. 31 to anyone who might have enjoyed the New Year’s Eve festivities a little too much.

If you have consumed alcohol, DON’T drive — instead call dispatch at 918.338.4001, tell the dispatcher you want to take the chief up on his offer to arrive safe and tell the dispatcher your location. Dispatchers will ensure that someone from the police department will come to your location and provide you with a safe ride home.

“We just want everyone to get home safe,” Ickleberry said. “The goal of this event is to minimize impaired driving in our City. We hope people will take advantage of the offer to help them celebrate responsibly and arrive home safely.”

All rides must be within Bartlesville city limits. There is no cost for the service. For more information, contact the BPD at 918.338.4050.
