City-owned swimming pools will close for the summer on Aug. 11. To close out the season, Frontier Pool will host the Dog Days of Summer that day, allowing open swim for dogs (and their owners) before closing for the year. Sooner Pool will be open as usual, also closing at the end of the day.
Splash pads will remain open until the seasonal weather ends.
“We try to keep the splash pads open for as long as we can,” said Public Works Director Keith Henry. “We’ll close them for the season once temperatures drop consistently enough to warrant it. Then we’ll winterize them and reopen once it’s warm enough, in the spring/summer.”
