Input sought for City’s Strategic Plan

Mar 22, 2022

Meetings set for March 28-29 at Bartlesville Community Center

The City of Bartlesville Comprehensive Strategic Plan project will officially get underway this month with a series of meetings aimed at obtaining input from the public, the City Council and City employees.

Two “Community Conversation” meetings for members of the public are set for:

  • 7 p.m. on Monday, March 28
  • 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29

Both meetings will be held at Bartlesville Community Center, 300 S.E. Adams Blvd.

A City Council meeting, which is also open to the public, will be held at 1 p.m. at City Hall, 401 S. Johnstone Ave., on Monday, March 28.

Meetings will also be held over the two-day period with project team members and City employees.

Patrick Ibarra of Mejorando Group will be in Bartlesville both days to present an overview of the planning process to the council and the City project team, and to facilitate the public meetings at BCC.

“We are excited to welcome Mr. Ibarra to Bartlesville and to officially launch the strategic plan project,” said City Manager Mike Bailey. “We hope everyone who is interested in sharing their views and vision for the City’s future will consider attending one or more of these meetings.”

Other methods of obtaining public input will also be utilized during the planning process, including a questionnaire and a social media campaign.

“Everyone will have an opportunity to weigh in as we move forward on this project,” Bailey said.

The plan will involve an in-depth look at the City’s organizational practices and provide direction for future operations. The outcome will be a written strategic plan document that presents the planning process, research, analysis, opportunities and strategies, along with an implementation plan that will guide the City for the next three to five years.
