Public meeting set for ODOT bridge project

December 14, 2018

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation is hosting a public meeting on Thursday, Dec. 20, to discuss a proposed replacement of the State Highway 123 bridge over the Caney River in Bartlesville, also known as the Cherokee Bridge.

The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at the Bartlesville Community Center, 300 S.E. Adams Boulevard.

The current bridge was built in 1937 and is considered structurally deficient. It is posted with a 10-ton load limit. To improve the safety in the corridor, ODOT plans to widen the highway and reconfigure areas of Cherokee Avenue, Delaware Avenue and Hensley Boulevard. A project is currently scheduled for Fiscal Year 2021 in ODOT’s Eight-Year Construction Plan.

During the meeting, the impacts of the project will be discussed and a public comment period will begin to help the environmental studies and design move forward.

For those unable to attend the meeting, all project materials will also be made available online following the meeting at www.odot.org/publicmeetings.

To request an accommodation, contact the ODOT ADA coordinator at 405.521.4140 or the Oklahoma Relay Service at 1.800.722.0353. If you have any ADA or Title VI questions email ODOT-ada-titlevi@odot.org.
