When is the City’s Solid Waste Survey coming out?

The City of Bartlesville Solid Waste Survey, designed by NewGen Strategies and Solutions, is currently under review by City management staff and should be available for Bartlesville residents to complete online in about a month, Public Works Director Keith Henry said this week.

Residents are encouraged to complete the survey relating their preferences and their willingness to fund several solid waste services, including:

  • Roadside clean-ups
  • Neighborhood clean-ups
  • Street sweeping
  • Bulky waste collection
  • Curbside or drop-off recycling
  • Household hazardous waste collection
  • Landfill voucher program
  • Sticker program (refuse, yard waste)
  • Spring and fall clean-ups

Citizen input will likely be sought for a 30-day period, after which the findings will be made available to City staff. Utility customers will receive information regarding the survey in an upcoming utility bill. Information will also be provided in City Beat, on the City’s website, www.cityofbartlesville.org, Facebook, Twitter and local media. The entire project is expected to conclude this summer.

Hope: On the way

Where is the new Hope Clinic going to be located?

Hope Clinic, which currently operates from the West Oak Baptist Church, will be located at 101 Sooner Road, near Sooner and Sunset in Oak Park. The clinic currently offers free acute health care on the first four Thursdays of every month and dental services twice a month, according to the organization’s website.

Plans for the new facility have been submitted and are currently under review to construct a 5,450-square-foot facility, including exam rooms, a dental area, lab, pharmacy and storm shelter.

Back on Johnstone

Why are they back on Johnstone cutting the new street?

According to Director of Engineering Micah Siemers, some of the concrete panels that were installed previously have cracked, so the contractor on the project, KSL Dirt Works, is replacing them. They are adding some new concrete panels as well. According to Siemers, there are several reasons this could have happened, but it is common and not necessarily anyone’s “fault.”

KSL is expected to complete approximately one block per week and cover a three-block area — from 14th Street to 17th Street — so the project should take approximately three weeks to complete.
