Q&A: Bricktown Brewery target opening is July 13

Any word on when Bricktown Brewery is opening?

According to Community Development Department staff, Bricktown Brewery’s target date for opening in Bartlesville is July 13.

When are you doing that?

When are you going to resurface Yale? It was on the last G.O. Bond.

The Yale resurfacing project is currently slated for the second issuance of the 2020 General Obligation Bond, funding which should be available next fall. So the Yale project should start sometime in 2024. The $867,000 project, approved by voters in the 2020 General Obligation Bond Election, involves an asphalt rebuild on Yale between Adams Boulevard and Frank Phillips Boulevard. Some curb and gutter will be replaced as well. (For more information on the gap between elections and project completion, see https://www.cityofbartlesville.org/qa-gap-city-elections…/)

What’s going in there?

What is going in where Braum’s used to be?

McAlisters Deli, currently located at 2330 S.E. Washington Blvd., is constructing a new restaurant and moving to that location.

Popeye’s lot not for sale

I have noticed that there is a “For Sale” sign on the property where Popeye’s was going to be built. Have they backed out now?

The “For Sale” sign at that location is actually for the adjacent property, not the Popeye’s lot. As of today, Community Development Department staff say they have not received any new information from the Popeye’s developer since the last report, which is that Smitco Inc., the company building the franchise in Bartlesville, has submitted plans to the corporate office and is awaiting approval of those plans. There appears to be a delay on that end, as the corporate office is currently focused on expansion in the upper Midwest and has reportedly put the Bartlesville project on hold. So, as far as anyone knows, the Popeye’s plan is still on, just delayed.

You forgot something

Would be nice to know the (Hillcrest) detour routes.

Hillcrest Drive will be closed between 20th Street and Hillcrest Heights, just south of the Caney River. Hillcrest traffic will be detoured to Silver Lake Road, Adams Boulevard, Nowata Road, and U.S. Highway 75.

No plans for paper

Is the City going to get Tulsa to come back for paper goods? There is no place to get rid of paper and aluminum cans except the landfill.

According to the Public Works Department, Replenysh has no plans to expand accepted items at the City Recycle Center, located at 10th Street and Virginia Ave., at this time. To follow Replenysh, see their Facebook page.
