The Oklahoma Department of Transportation is working to replace the State Highway 123 Bridge, also known as the Cherokee Bridge, and realign the bridge intersection to the east. Here’s some detailed information about it, published in last week’s City Beat and on the City website, www.cityofbartlesville.org
Is the highway near Cherokee Bridge going to close to facilitate the bridge replacement?
Highway closures are to be expected at some point during the project. However, because this is an ODOT project and not a City of Bartlesville project, the City does not have specific information regarding when that will occur. The contract time on the project is two years.
No plans to expand recycle center hours
Is there any plan to start opening the recycle place on Saturdays? The current hours are completely inconvenient. It has caused us to basically stop recycling and throwing everything in the toter for the garbage dump.
There currently are no plans to expand the hours of the City-owned recycle center, located at 10th Street and Virginia Avenue. The City entered into an agreement last year with Replenysh, a California-based company that finds markets for recyclable materials. Since then, more than 94,000 pounds of material has been collected at the center.
The center is currently open 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. City staff monitors the site, which must be closely attended due to people dumping trash, furniture and other unwanted items at the center in the past.
Can I get a pass on that?
How do I get a season pass to Sooner Pool?
City-owned Sooner and Frontier swimming pools are managed and operated by the Richard Kane YMCA. For season passes, hours, swimming lessons or any other pool-related information, contact the YMCA at 918.336.0713 or visit https://www.rkymca.org/ or the YMCA’s Facebook page.
