Is there any updated information about the recycle center?
Actually, there is. As City Beat readers all know by now, the City-owned drop-off recycle center, located on 10th Street just east of Virginia Avenue, has been closed since a fire caused extensive damage at Tulsa Recycling and Transfer Center last month. The City transfers recyclable materials dropped off at the center to TRT for processing but is unable to do so at this time due to the TRT closure. City staff has not been notified of an opening date for TRT.
In an attempt to find options for local recyclers during the closure of the drop-off center, City staff and elected officials have been attempting to find alternative buyers for recycled materials. Replenysh, a company that helps to make connections between local recycling operations and regional buyers, will make a presentation to the City Council during the council’s regularly scheduled meeting on June 7. As always, the public is invited to attend the meeting, which will begin at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 401 S. Johnstone Ave. The meeting can also be viewed via livestream on the City’s webcast, at www.cityofbartlesville.org.
