Update: Glass is now being accepted at the City Recycle Center. For more information, contact the Public Works Department at 918.338.4131.
You asked, and Replenysh has delivered. Well, almost.
The California-based company that took over the City’s recycling program last year will soon add glass to its list of recyclable material accepted at the City-owned recycle center, located at 10th Street and Virginia Avenue.
Brown, clear, and green glass will be accepted in addition to the plastics, aluminum and steel cans, and cardboard currently accepted.
“The glass will have to be sorted by color and put into separate containers,” said Public Works Director Keith Henry. “Replenysh will crush the glass on-site and transport it to the buyer in Tulsa.”
Henry said the company is not ready to accept glass yet but should be very soon.
“It could be as early as this week,” he said.
The information will be posted on the City’s Facebook page, City of Bartlesville GOV, as soon as glass collection is available.
The city partnered with Replenysh last year after a fire damaged the Tulsa facility the City used for processing the material collected at the City center. Since November 2021, Replenysh has collected 110,000 pounds of material from the center — roughly 20,000 to 30,000 pounds each month.
The City Recycle Center is open is open 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, excluding holidays.
