Company begins ramping down operations at recycle center
Replenysh, the California-based company that has operated the City-owned recycle center since 2021, will begin ramping down operations at the center this month. The company had initially planned to end its arrangement with the City in April but has extended the agreement until May.
The City was notified Wednesday that May 22 will be the last day Replenysh will accept materials at the site.
Replenysh has provided the following schedule in preparation of its departure:
Drop-off schedule
- Friday, May 8 — last day for plastics (PET, HDPE, thermoforms)
- Friday, May 22 — last day for cardboard (OCC), glass, aluminum, and steel
Site Closure
- Week of May 25-29 – material pickups, baler pickup, site cleanup
- Friday, May 29 — site fully closed
Public Works Director Keith Henry said Public Works staff are currently talking with representatives of area providers and compiling information regarding potential services. Once this portion of the process is complete, the information will be reviewed and an action plan for moving forward will be considered.
“We will update the public as soon as more information becomes available,” he said.
