Bartlesville Police Department officers peacefully ended a stand-off situation with a robbery suspect late Thursday and continue to work on the case today, Capt. Jay Hastings said early Friday.

Robbery suspect James T. Black was taken into custody at 9 p.m. Thursday following a stand-off with police at a residence near 16th and Elm.

“No injuries were reported and police were able to communicate and talk him out of the house,” Hastings said. “Investigators are still working on the case today (Friday).

“We would like to thank the other agencies that assisted with this operation: Washington County Special Operations team, Bartlesville Police Reserves, Washington County Emergency Management, Bartlesville Fire Department and Bartlesville Ambulance for standing by during the operation,” he said. “We would also like to thank the citizens and neighbors who may have been affected during the operation for their cooperation.”
