Street repair projects to start Monday

August 24, 2018

Contract crews will start work Monday on a concrete panel replacement project that includes repairs on several Bartlesville streets including Fleetwood Drive, Sooner Park Road and Willow Creek/Arbor Drive, Director of Engineering Micah Siemers said Friday.

“This project is a concrete panel replacement project that includes three streets that were part of the 2017 Issuance of the 2012 General Obligation Bond,” Siemers said.

The project includes repairs to the following areas:

  • Fleetwood Drive from Frank Phillips Boulevard to Spruce Avenue
  • Sooner Park Road from Baylor Drive to Adams Boulevard
  • Willow Creek/Arbor from Adams Boulevard to Hazel Road

“The contractor, Jeff Graham Construction of Coffeyville, Kan., plans to begin work on Fleetwood, just north of Cara Lee Lane, and they will work their way southwest to Frank Phillips,” Siemers said. “They will be saw-cutting concrete the first half of next week.”

Siemers said the Fleetwood portion of the project should take about six weeks to complete, with crews then set to move to Sooner Park Road.

“We are targeting approximately six weeks for the Fleetwood portion of the project, assuming weather cooperates, and then they will move on to Sooner Park and likely begin work also on Willow Creek/Arbor sometime in November with a second crew, if all goes as planned.”

Siemers said 75 working days have been allocated for the project, which excludes weekends, holidays and inclement weather delays.

“That said, overall completion is targeted for mid-December of this year,” Siemers said.

Traffic will be kept open during the repairs, though it will be reduced to one lane.

“Drivers will need to use caution and avoid this area if possible,” Siemers said.
