A cattle car that has been at the end of the Santa Fe Depot train display located at 201 Keeler Ave. was moved recently thanks to the Friends of the 940, a group of community volunteers dedicated to maintaining the City-owned display.
The group enlisted the help of a Bennett Steel, which was in town earlier this month in connection with the Highway 123 Bridge project, to move the car into its proper place behind the Santa Fe No. 940 steam locomotive.
“This is a milestone in the completion of the display because the locomotive and cars are now arranged as a ‘real train,'” said Friends of the 940 member Tom Birkett.
