Water line repair work underway on Frank Phillips Boulevard

Dec 11, 2018

Anyone downtown last Friday evening might have noticed that Frank Phillips Boulevard just west of Cherokee Avenue was partially under water, thanks to a 12-inch water line break in the area (top). Water Utilities Department crews were called out to isolate the leak around 7 p.m. and returned Saturday morning to fix the line, said Water Utilities Director Terry Lauritsen. The leak produced enough water to completely cover the roadway. “It put on quite a show,” Lauritsen said. Pavement repairs in the area are underway this week (bottom).
