Curbside collection to wrap up soon

The City of Bartlesville drop-off site for storm debris caused by the May 6 tornado will close on June 14.

The site is on City of Bartlesville-owned property located on West Highway 60 just east of the Green Country Rodeo Arena. It was opened shortly after a tornado caused damage to trees and structures in several Bartlesville neighborhoods earlier this month.

The site, which is open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, is for residential Solid Waste customers only. Only vegetative debris, including trees and brush, is accepted at the site due to specific permitting by the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality.

The City’s curbside collection for vegetative and non-vegetative debris continues but is expected to wrap up soon, Public Works Director Keith Henry said today.

“We will continue the curbside collection for as long as needed, but we expect to be finished with that collection in the next week or two as well,” Henry said.

For the curbside collection, tree limbs should be cut into lengths no longer than 6 feet and weigh no more than 50 pounds.
