A City surplus property auction held last Saturday netted approximately $160,000 — money that will be added to the General Fund, Chief Financial Officer Jason Muninger said this week.
“We hold these auctions once every two or three years, or as often as necessary to keep surplus items from getting too backlogged,” Muninger said. “The money is then put into the General Fund, which is used to fund most City operations. This includes police, fire, sanitation services, codes enforcement — nearly everything associated with the City that you can think of that doesn’t exclusively fall under an Enterprise Fund, like water and wastewater.”
Several vehicles, mowers, equipment, tools and pieces of furniture were sold at the auction.
