City Council renews Bird, Lime contracts

Lime Scooters and Bird Rides have signed up for another year of service in Bartlesville. On Monday, the City Council authorized another year of service for both companies, which provide scooter services in Bartlesville.

Since launching in December of 2020, Lime electric scooters has provided a total of 15,443 rides for 16,379.7 total miles using a maximum of 75 vehicles. The median trip distance was 0.6 miles, and median trip time was 11 minutes.

In its first year of operation, launching in February of 2021, Bird Rides provided a total of 9,020 rides for 15,557 total miles using a maximum of 75 vehicles.

“The scooters have generated a lot of interest in Bartlesville, and we know people are using them both for entertainment and purposeful transportation,” said Community Development Director Lisa Beeman. “We’re happy to extend the contract for both companies for another year of service.”

If not renewed, the contracts will expire in February 2023.
