The shade structure at Civitan Park, located on Silver Lake Road just north of Nowata Road, was removed last week for repairs.
The park was reopened on Friday and will remain open as repairs are being made. It will be closed again temporarily when the structure is replaced. Intermittent closures are also likely throughout the process to accommodate work in the area.
Public Works Department staff say some toys on the playground have been broken/vandalized, and that replacements have been ordered.
“These will be replaced as soon as they come in,” said Public Works Director Keith Henry.
The park has been closed since deficiencies were discovered in the shade structure. For more information, see www.cityofbartlesville.org.
Contractor Lee Construction removed the structure last Wednesday. The repairs needed will be assessed and completed either by City staff or a separate contractor. Lee Construction will replace the structure when repairs are complete.
