Lincoln Electric Products to create 100 jobs for Bartlesville

The City Council on Tuesday voted to approve a recommendation by the Bartlesville Development Authority to appropriate up to $1.5 million from the Economic Development Fund in association with the location of Lincoln Electric Products at the former Siemens building.

The incentive funds will provide job creation incentives up to a maximum of 100 new full-time Lincoln Electric employees at $15,000 per new full-time employee over 36 months, and allocate up $1 million for the Resident Recruitment employee relocation incentive for up to 100 new residents associated with Lincoln’s expansion over 36 months. Designation of the funds will be contingent upon closing on the purchase of the former Siemens industrial complex, located at 406 U.S. Highway 60.

The council voted on the request during the regularly scheduled January meeting, held Tuesday due to the New Year’s Day holiday.

“Lincoln Electric Products, based in Union City, New Jersey, is expanding operations by adding a second location in Bartlesville,” said Chris Batchelder, BDA vice president of Business Development.

“Their plan is to purchase the former Siemen’s building, which is currently owned by the Bartlesville Development Authority, and hire 100 employees over the next 36 months.”

BDA trustees approved the building sale in the amount of $2,250,000 and the incentives proposed at their Dec. 20 meeting. The building was vacated by Siemens and purchased by the BDA in September 2020.
