Fall clean-up program underway this week

Oct 23, 2015

The City of Bartlesville’s fall clean-up program kicked off Monday and will continue through the end of the week.

Bartlesville residents may present a current City of Bartlesville water bill receipt at the Osage Landfill which will allow them to dispose of unwanted goods.

Residential customers may take unwanted items to Osage Landfill during regular business hours, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

Customers will be allowed to transport their debris in a single personal vehicle or vehicle/trailer combination. No commercial vehicles will be allowed. There will be no disposal fee to City of Bartlesville residential customers, but residents must live in the city limits and have a current City of Bartlesville water bill receipt to present to the attendant at the Osage Landfill. Customers may make more than one trip to the landfill.

All appliances that have compressors must have the compressors removed before disposal. The compressor can be disposed if it is removed. City personnel recommends that residents contact a licensed refrigerant technician for the removal.

Items that WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED are:

  • Tires
  • Batteries
  • Hazardous material
  • Wet paint
  • Appliances that have not had the compressors removed (refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, etc.)
  • Demolished structures.

(Note: Appliance must be certified “Freon free” if compressor is not removed.)

Customers may choose to unload their debris at a City-staffed dump site just inside the Osage Landfill or take their debris on to the fill area.

Osage Landfill is located on Highway 123, on County Road 2712.

For more information, call the Public Works Department at 338-4131.
