Hulah Lake full, enters flood stage

Nov 4, 2024

Bartlesville’s primary water source, Hulah Lake, is full after weekend rainfall significantly affected the lake’s watershed area, which is located in Southeast Kansas.

“The weekend rains have significantly improved our water supply. Hulah is at full capacity and in the flood stage, while Copan is still more than a foot short of being full, although inflow continues into the lake,” said Terry Lauritsen, Water Utilities director.

Overall water remaining is currently 94.2 percent, while weighted water supply based on water right is at 106.3 percent.
Water remaining (percent) at each source:
Hulah – 107.6%
Copan – 86.8%
Hudson – 92.2%
Caney River – 100%

Average consumption last week was 5.33 million gallons per day.
