Marshall family recognized for actions during dog attack

May 3, 2022

Bartlesville Firefighter Chad Marshall, his wife Ana and their son Creed were recognized Monday for their heroic actions that helped save the life of their rural Osage County neighbor during a dog attack April 18.

Off duty at the time, Chad and Ana, who is a pediatric nurse practitioner in Owasso, rushed to help the woman, with Ana covering the woman’s body with her own while Chad fought the dog off of them.

Two other Good Samaritans stopped to help, with one man calling 911, and a woman positioning her vehicle between the victim and the dogs, which by then had abandoned the attack and fled.

The victim was hospitalized with serious injuries and both Chad and Ana were bitten multiple times. They were treated at a local after-hours clinic.
