Memorial Day service planned at White Rose Cemetery

May 13, 2019

A ceremony honoring the service and sacrifice of America’s military members is scheduled for 9 a.m. on May 27 at the White Rose Cemetery gazebo.

This year marks the 119th observance of Memorial Day at the cemetery.

The ceremony will include an explanation and meaning of the folding of the American flag and Taps. After the invocation a guest speaker from the American Legion Post 105 will remember those who gave their lives to strengthen and preserve the invaluable gift of freedom.

During the ceremony there will also be a poetry reading, and the Blue Star Mothers will present a wreath in remembrance of those who’ve made the ultimate sacrifice.

The event is free and the community is invited to attend. The City of Bartlesville-owned White Rose Cemetery is located on 11th Street just east of Virginia Avenue.
