No sign of Applebee’s coming to Bartlesville; recycling program savings

Jan 18, 2024

Is it true that we’re getting an Applebee’s?

The Community Development Department has not received any permit applications in association with an Applebee’s restaurant. No other City department is aware of any interest the restaurant may have in locating here. That doesn’t mean they’re not coming, but it does mean that if so, no one has told us about it.

How much does the city make on recycling and where does the money go?

The City has given permission to Replenysh, the company that manages the City’s recycling program, to use any earnings that would be owed to the City to instead be used to purchase equipment and make other improvements to the City-owned recycle center, located at 10th Street and Virginia Avenue. While the City hasn’t realized any “profit” from the program, contracting with Replenysh to operate the program has saved taxpayers roughly $70,000 per year in transportation and processing costs.
