ODOT to start Highway 60 maintenance project June 23

Jun 20, 2025

An Oklahoma Department of Transportation asphalt maintenance project for Highway 60/Adams Boulevard in Bartlesville is set to kick off Monday, June 23.

City staff was notified this week that ODOT will conduct an asphalt maintenance project in the area between the U.S. Highway 75 Overpass and State Highway 123.

Lane closures should be expected along this corridor throughout the duration of the project, which is expected to conclude by Aug. 1, pending any weather limitations that may arise.

One lane of traffic for each direction will remain open during the project; however, motorists are encouraged to select alternate routes of travel when possible to avoid delays and traffic congestion.

Work is expected to start Monday, June 23, at the intersection of Highway 60 and Quapaw Avenue. Quapaw will be closed at the highway intersection until work is completed in this area.

Local streets along the corridor are set for temporary closure at the highway intersections. Those roads include:

  • Chickasaw
  • Delaware
  • Osage
  • Dewey
  • Armstrong
  • Santa Fe (north side only)
  • Oak
  • Hickory (north side only)
  • Virginia
  • Penn
  • Rogers
  • Morton
  • Bucy
  • Adeline
  • Sunset

Some intersections will be flag controlled to allow through traffic. These include Cherokee, Choctaw, Elm, and potentially others to be determined as the project progresses. This is done as a safety measure to keep the public safe as well as for the safety for the workers present, please be patient while workers are directing traffic in these areas.

The asphalt maintenance project will improve the condition of the roadway and is intended to be a stop-gap to provide the public a smoother ride; and more robust road until the future full depth reconstruction takes place, which is included in ODOT’s 8-year plan at a cost of $18 million. The larger project is currently set to bid in February 2027.
