When will the bridge on Sunset be open?
According to the Engineering Department, striping on the Sunset Bridge over Butler Creek is expected to get underway later this week, and the bridge should reopen early next week. The bridge was closed in January for deck replacement and guardrail improvements. The $2.1 million project was funded by $1.2 million in sales tax funds and $814,369 in 2020 General Obligation Bond funds.
Plans for a parallel pedestrian bridge over Butler Creek as part of the Pathfinder Parkway are awaiting the go-ahead from the State, which provided $300,000 for the project through the Recreational Trails Program.
Voters approved $400,000 for the project in Half-cent Capital Improvement Project (CIP) Sales Tax funds. Due to escalating construction costs, the project is expected to cost $700,000 to complete.
Are they back?
I noticed Monterey’s (restaurant) is coming back again. Is it the same one?
The Community Development Department doesn’t have any permits or a business license application on file for the building formerly housing Monterey’s restaurant, located in the 3800 block of Adams Road. City staff say they have been unofficially advised there are plans to convert the building to an Italian restaurant.
Clean-up coupons
Has the city sent out free dump vouchers for 2026?
Yes. The coupons were mailed with utility bills earlier this year. If you did not receive your coupon in your January or February utility bill, contact the Utility Billing Office at 918.338.4224 or email utilitybilling@cityofbartlesville.org.
The City of Bartlesville, in coordination with Osage Landfill, provides an annual coupon good for one free trip to the landfill at any time during the year to the City’s Solid Waste customers. Backyard chickens
Is it legal to own chickens inside the city limits? What do I have to do to get a permit to keep them in my yard?
“Backyard chickens” are permitted inside Bartlesville’s city limits, provided the regulations outlined in the City’s Municipal Code and Zoning Regulations are met. Chickens must be housed at least 100 feet away from residential structures on an adjoining lot and are only permitted in areas of the city zoned RA (Residential Agricultural) or RS (Single Family Residential). The number of chickens is limited to six adult hens and 14 chicks under the age of eight weeks. Roosters are not permitted.
